I think the Lewitt itself can be charged while in use, but you definitely cannot charge the iPad.
The power is not passed through to the iPad as it is not a properly qualified MFi device.

Re: Which Interface is best for voiceovers?
I have both kinds of One although I don't use the older one with my iPad I bought the Lewitt and returned it - it doesn't charge the iPad when using it, and it had a few odd glitches in the firmware - which doesn't appear to be updatable. It did sound very nice though and much better in every way th...

Re: Which Interface is best for voiceovers?
I recommend the Apogee One for iPad if you only need one input. Make sure you get the iPad version not the older version which won't work with iPad at all (old one is plastic and smaller). The Focusrite iTrack Solo will also do - which version you need to buy depends on which iPad you have. If you h...

How are you powering the iPad in these two scenarios?

This is absolutely fundamental. A DAW shouldn't chew up and lose your audio.

Re: Firmware update for Apogee One "fails"
It's in Apogee's knowledgebase.

It does work, but it pretends not to!

Re: Panning
Panning law is not really to do with headroom, it's related to how you hear the volume of a sound which is central when it is then panned to one side or the other. It's best if you do a search on the web for a clear explanation. There's no panning template - The Beatles, who never had a problem with...

Re: Major Auria Announcement
SNIP... Other than Auria, all we need now is more hardware options that use Audio/MIDI simultaneously to record external hardware synthesizers. Is iRig Pro the only current option? If I understand your comment correctly then yes. There's a whole page here: http://auriaapp.com/Support/auria-audio-in...

Re: Need advice on best practices
The Apogee interfaces (the versions for iOS) have their own built in zero latency monitoring, you just need the free Maestro app from the appstore to use it. Use that and turn the Auria monitoring off.

No, you can't do it. Stop trying!
You need an MFi interface. And not any old MFi interface. Apogee or iTrack, not Avid.

Re: Charging the ipad while using sound card
You need an MFi (made for iOS) interface. There are only a few. Apogee One, Duet and Quartet (the latest versions of each - make sure you get the "for Mac and iPad" versions), and the Focusrite iTrack Dock (I think the iTrack Solo may also be MFi, but I'm not certain). The Apogee Duet and ...

iOS 7 ongoing support?
I was wondering if the intention is to continue iOS 7 support for the foreseeable future? Having upgraded my phone to iOS 8 and then quickly back to iOS 7, I have no intention of moving to 8 on my iPad unless I have to. What are the plans?
