ok, so I reinstalled auria and it seems to have improved the stability. I'll try this out for a while.

Performed same steps as above, but Increased record buffer size - record latency:1024. Recording halts after: 02.58.607. Memory overload - increase buffer size.

how big of an issue, though, is the latency really for a beginner like me? I mean, I'm not recording more than one track at a time, and not making any really complex projects either...

Resetting and starting a new project didn't help. The record level-knob has no effect on the actual level, with the samson meteor mic. However - I tried using my other mic - a zoom H2 through a powered usb-hub, and immediately the signal reacts to the record level setting, working as it should! The ...
