Automate effects independently of dry track

Post by gwishin » Wed Mar 08, 2017 5:53 am

Hello Auria family,

I am mixing a meditation project and trying to recreate something that I heard on another recording. The vocals have a delay effect that is faded up and down and also panned from left to right independently of the dry track.

I would like to recreate that delay effect and automate the panning and fading. It would be easy if it were just automating the volume of the effect--I could just put the effect on one of the aux channels and then automate the aux. However, I can't figure out how to add panning without panning the dry track as well.

Could someone please help me out with this? Thanks in advance!

Send your track to two busses simultaneously, say bus 1 and bus 2. Keep bus 1 dry, and then add the automated delay and panning effects to bus two, use the faders to blend to taste.
