Ifretless bass or sample tank???

Post by jrech » Sun Sep 02, 2018 3:27 pm

Does anyone have a preference for electric bass sounds using ifretless
Bass or sound tank? They are about the same price but they both do
Midi according to there write ups. Does One sound better?

I’ve not tried ifretleas but I have more luck with the ones in Lyra than I do with sampletank

Thank you. I downloaded the free version of sanpletank and didn’t really like it. Ifretless has some pretty good sounds and a nice way of inputing sounds. You fret the notes on the iPad and it has some cool slides and vibrato sounds that get recorded. It does midi files as well. I also got ibassist. That has some cool grooves. The sounds are ok but not as good as ifretless bass. If any one has any other cool apps that create bass tones let me know. Thank you so much for your help.

If you’re looking for “real” stringed bass sounds, I think you’ve found a couple of the best in my book. Certainly as you’ve found playing parts in the ifretless screen offers a level of expression that’s a bit closer to what an actual bassist would play.
I’ve found running it through some fx can get closer to a real sound as well.

I don’t have a link off the bat, but there are some good bass guitar soundfonts out there that can be loaded into Lyra as well. A google search will find them pretty quick.

Thank you for the sample of a studio bass. Here is a simple question, how do you download it to Lyra? It would be done on an iPad, I don’t have a computer anymore. I have never uploaded a sample into Lyra. If you can give me the basics idea, I can figure it out. I have the sample saved in AudioShare. Thank you for your help.
