Cannot change BPM

Not sure what is going on here but when I open a new project the default BPM is 120. When I try to change this (bu double tapping the metronome and typing new BPM) it reverts back to 120 when I hit OK or adjust any of the other settings. Anyone seen this OS can tell me what the hell I am doing wrong?
