I think we're just talking about different things here ;) In the picture, I see:

- The region itself (solid color)
- The waveform (in white). You can see active audio to the left of the fade, and to the right of the fade, it's blank audio (just a white line) because it's been faded.
- The fade line. That's the diagonal line. This doesn't extend beyond the colored region. It stays within the bounds.

Which part are you saying extends beyond the region?

Thanks,
Rim

How did you get it to do that? Is this photoshop, or the real deal ;)

Me? I just saved his pic on my iPad and draw the grey lines using photo shop ideas or whatever the app is called, over the white lines that I also am seeing. BUT I might be hallucinating too lol

you'd be better off making a jpeg of the screen print with a big arrow pointing to the *very* thin white line so Rim can see what your referring to.

I'm talking about the fade line. As ChrisG has highlighted in grey, at the bottom of the diagonal fade line it extends out beyond the region for a few seconds, it is a faint line I grant you. When I mixdown the project I'm left with several seconds of silence at the end of the song that I think is caused by these extended "fade lines" and I was wondering if there was a way to minimise these. But now my main concern is that you may think I'm insane!! :?

I have had no issues with the fade lines personally, even tho they might not be pixel perfect in the region they do cut the vol to 0. BUT again, I do see the white lines in your picture so maybe there's an isolated issue in your case. Or there are atleast 2 people hallucinating on this forum!

Thanks ChrisG, glad I'm not the only one!! In terms of the fade sounding good I'm more than happy with them, but I'd like to be able to use them without these extra seconds of silence at the end of a mixed down project.

Rim - I've found that these (very faint) fade lines can be reproduced every time. (By me at least!)

1. Highlight any track with any audio on.
2. Zoom in to at least 72% and apply a straight fade to the end of the region
3. Move the fade through its range and when you get to roughly 45degrees ish, the fade line will appear beyond the boundaries of the region.

Voila, I'm off for a lie down now......

OK, now I see them. Had to turn up the brightness on my monitor LOL. This is just a graphical artifact, and has no impact on the audio at all. The reason why mixdowns are longer than selected is because I have the mixdown go 20 seconds over the length in order to make sure all reverb tails are done. This is just a kludge until I add a checkbox for reverb tails in the mixdown box.

Phew!! Thanks for taking the time to look into it, does that mean at some point the 20sec buffer will be something we can alter as necessary?

Thanks

Yep, I will be making that a checkbox in the mixdown page.
