I'm new to side chaining and would like to know the differences between sidechaining with pro l or pro c and such.

Basically sidechaining is triggering a processor from another source. You can trigger a compressor from a track like a music track that lies under a sports dj and when the dj starts talking the compressor will duck the music down in volume so that the dj can be heard over the music better and thats called ducking. So if you want to apply any type of effect triggered from another source than you need sidechaining. This trick was originally used in the studio to trigger eq's, gates, reverb and whatever other effect they were trying to use in a limited or targeted way in their mixes. Today it is more used to create effects and cool beats and textures and was started in France in the electro trance dance club music. So triggering effects in a daw is very cool and you may find yourself playing around with some really cool ideas when you start tweaking real audio and fx. Will you need this feature to master or record your music, certainly not but it does add one more tool to you musicbox. So to answer your question directly, you simply trigger a compressor when it's a compressor you want in the chain and want it's effect applied to another track including only compressing a specific frequency at a specific time interval set by the trigger source. Same would apply to the Limiter except it's the Limiters qualities that you now need in the chain and what it does vr the compressor. It's important to know the difference between these two plugins and how they work in your music mixes. cheers and hope that helps. Save for all the plugins there all simply the best and it helps us get more cool plugins later on making our Auria experience fun and new on a regular basis.
