metronome what up

Post by Anthony Alves » Sat Nov 02, 2013 6:38 pm

has anyone experienced the metronome playing out the output meter? I have never had this before so not sure if its a bug or not but If I turn on the metronome for recording or playback its signal is showing on the vu meter therefore screwing up acurate monitoring. Any advice or help to get rid of this would be great as Im working on an Auria/iPad Air tutorial and I dont want this showing on the video. help Rim or anyone please. Not saying this is a bug just need to get rid of this. cheers.

Anthony,

You're right - I've never noticed that as well. It looks like I routed the metronome to the audio before the meters, so there's no way around this as far as I can tell. You could record the metronome onto a track, then route that track to a subgroup and assign it in the output matrix to a separate output (and uncheck LR).

That's very odd. I assume it will be fixable soon?

I've added it to my list. It's always been like this, since v1.0. It's not being recorded, you can just see it in the VU meters.

Thanks Rim. Sorry for the delay. Yes your right there is no risk of it being recorded, I just got confused one day thinking my signal for my HiHat was off time when I noticed the output meter was adding the meteronome peak. I just dont engage the meternome during peak readings. Cheers and thanks.

Rim, if you change the routing in a future update, will we still be able to record the metronome to a track like wee can now? Cheers.

Tell me how you're recording the metronome. Are you doing it by selecting L/R as the record source?

Speaking of the metronome, is there anyway to get a visual display? Like a flash or something to keep time with?

That's a good idea. I'm not sure if there's screen real estate available, but I can look into it.

Thanks,

Talking of screen real estate, Rim; don't forget about a much earlier suggestion to replace the two buttons (Mixer/Edit window select) with a single button to toggle between the two windows. That would release one buttons-worth of real estate.
