Auria SOOO sluggish
Hi Rim and company,
I'm on a 64GB ipad3. Auria is super sluggish on my end. zooming in and out is quite unbearable. is this a hardware issue or is this something an update (or an ios upgrade) can fix? i understand auria has so many features and i'm worried that it's my hardware's limitation that is causing this very slow response as i am not ready to upgrade my ipad just yet. as of the moment i am laying down tracks via cubasis and the functions are pretty fast, but of course i want to mix in auria and do not want want to go through the huge hassle of exporting files every time. i'd very much want to record my tracks within Auria but my work flow will be very much disrupted by the current ui response. your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Auria SOOO sluggish
I seem to remember Rim posting something to the effect that iPad 3s and lower were hit pretty hard by iOS 7, causing the sluggish behavior. Don't quote me, but I think he also said performance would improve with the next update. I'm hoping I remember that correctly. I loved working with Auria on my iPad 2 pre-iOS 7. Still contemplating something other than an iPad for the future. Too many variables for me.

Oh that's good news. Hope it gets fixed in the next update. As of the moment I still don't know how to transfer from cubasis to auria. Hoping I get this sorted before I finish my current project.
Re: Auria SOOO sluggish
since I have only iPads v.2 and 4, I cannot comment from own experience. But from what I've heard, the v.3 is the worst in performance. It has the so-called retina display, and not enough RAM and CPU to support a fluent performance. It seems a well known problem with v.3, I'm afraid to say.
Use the search function in the forum, I think there are a couple of threads dealing with that. Also you can find countless hits about performance issues in a general internet search.
From what I've gathered, Auria and many other audio-related apps work best with v.2, 4, and 5. Sorry about that.

4 was barely better than my 3, luckily the Air makes it smoother. Still sluggish once I get above 6-7 tracks though, especially with lots of smaller audio files.

Thanks a lot,i started to think i bought a"monday"copy of auria cause it seemed i was the only one always complaining about the sluggish behaviorTarekith wrote:4 was barely better than my 3, luckily the Air makes it smoother. Problem is that most of my work happen in the edit window while i arrange stuff and not in the mixer window so this IS a big issue for me unfortunately.

This issue appeared along with iOS7, and Apple still hasn't addressed it. I'm working on an update to the GUI that will solve this in a future update.

Just to make it clear to everybody:i'm NOT talking about the UI.Everything is (and always was) very responsive. It's"just"the zooming and scrolling in the edit window that bothers me.
Thanks Rim,looking forward.i guess that means that Apple didn't fixed it in the upcoming 7.1 update though...

Looks like Apple finally fixed this bug in 7.1. Zooming and scrolling is as smooth as it was in iOS6.

So can we hope that your planned update to Auria's GUI will improve performance of zooming, scrolling, editing, etc. beyond what iOS7.1 fixes?Rim wrote:This issue appeared along with iOS7, and Apple still hasn't addressed it.
